News

As requested at the Workshop, I will try to send a monthly newsletter to keep everyone up to date and remind them that there is work to be done.

A few minor changes have been made to the workshop report, in response to input received by various participants.

On the webpage, intercomparison (http://paos.colorado.edu/~curryja/ocean/intercomparison-cg.html), fledgling webpages have been posted for each of the intercomparison projects. Please provide comments (esp project coordinators).

Chris Fairall has updated the ETL in situ data for 1999, these data are now on the web page.

Lawrence Eymard has agreed to provide in situ data for SEMAPHORE, CATCH/FASTEX and FETCH, which include direct turbulent flux measurements.

Bill Rossow has agreed to be the coordinator for SST comparison.

Joerg Schulz has agreed to be coordinator of the Ta, Qa, flux comparison.

Dudley Chelton and Mark Bourassa have formulated a quick comparison study of their two different methods of deriving scatterometer wind fields.

Michael Brunke and Xubin Zeng sent a request on 6/15 requesting any updates to the bulk flux codes.

Calculation of skin SST for the ETL cruises is underway by Sandra Castro and Randy Reeder.

I look forward to your continued comments and input.
