Abstracts Due for AMS Meeting
The next SEAFLUX meeting is scheduled for Feb 12-13 2003, in conjunction with the AMS annual meeting and the 12th Conference on Interactions of the Sea and Atmosphere Feb 9-13 2003 (abstracts due jul 15 2002). Also concurrent is the Symposium on Satellite Meteorology and Oceanography. Abstracts for the AMS conferences are due 29 July for Air/Sea and 19 July for Satellite. See www.ametsoc.org/AMS/. Brief abstracts for seaflux meeting will be due in Jan. 2003.
For members of SEAFLUX, who may be interested in joining a session of air-sea interactions in IUGG 2003. The XXIII General Assembly of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG) will be held from June 30 to July 11, 2003 in Sapporo, Japan. The second circular of the Assembly is available from: http://www.jamstec.go.jp/jamstec-e/iugg/index.html in HTML and PDF formats.
In the Assembly, they are organizing a session entitled "JSP09 Physical Aspects of Air-Sea Interaction" as a joint session of IAPSO and IAMAS. The session covers topics concerning i) Air-sea exchanges from surface observations and numerical models, ii) air-sea exchanges from remote sensing, and iii) mesoscale air-sea interactions during strong winds. I would like to encourage members of SEAFLUX to present recent results at the session. Deadlines for abstract submission are January 20, 2003 for postal submission and January 30, 2003 for electronic submission.
